Vikramshila's Resource Hub - Pitara

In keeping with progressive changes at the systemic level, Vikramshila is stepping ahead in line, in partnership with Eklavya, Bhopal, to support and strengthen state efforts in the implementation of the Right to Education Act, by putting its 20 years of field experience and learnings from all over India in the form of Vikramshila’s Pitara.

EDUCATION RESOURCE CENTRE

• It is strategically located to ensure easy accessibility to teachers, academicians, educationists, researchers, students and parents.
• It houses childrens' books, reference books on teaching learning, educational books, workbooks, worksheets and a variety of teaching learning materials, both print and video, based on the progressive pedagogy expressed in the ideals of the NCF 2005 and the Right to Education Act 2009.
• It provides access to policy documents, journals, for teachers and students.
• It makes available valuable books and resources from organisations and publishers from all over India in three languages -English, Bengali and Hindi.

Services offered by the centre

• Teacher Support through workshops, training programmes, orientation programmes, theme based teacher conventions
• Learning Support to Children through remediation, bridging learning gaps, workshops and camps
• Library Support and Skills - Since the Right to Education Act mandates a working resource library in each school, the center also offers technical support in library activities to explore the library as means of language development from an early age.
• Thought Leadership and Technical Support on issues related to school education, employability, soft skills, computer education, communicative English and Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation
• The center will be available for exposure visits by schools, teachers, and students from all schools
