Teachers' Training

It is our core activity, because we believe that teachers are central to reshaping society.So far we have trained approximately 6000 teachers from around 200 organisations and have helped these teachers to set up model education centres in their respective areas.

In course of these training, our trainers are faced with heterogeneous groups in terms of academic standard, level of understanding and exposure, language and customs. But all these people are bound together with a common desire - to transform the lives of children through a meaningful yet alternate kind of education. We endeavor to empower them to do just that. Its primary success lies in the change that these teachers show at the end of the training and the way they translate it into activities. Rural India is fraught with social rigidity and inequalities. It is of great satisfaction to us that when our supervisors visit villages, they often find not only a good school but also a change in the village social structure.

The training provided by us aims at developing pedagogical skill as well as knowledge base of trainees :

1. Pre-primary : 15 days spaced 7+8 with a month off in between phases for supervision and monitoring (see training report)

2. Primary : 15 days spaced 7+8 with a month off in between phases for supervision and monitoring

3. Supervisors' Training : 5 days

4. Special Holiday Camps : 7 days

5. Educational Leadership Training (a broad based Training of Trainers) : 28 days

6. Early Childhood Learning: a 8 month Diploma Course based on the Montessori method

7. Teaching-Learning Materials Development : 7 days
